The Antarctic continental rise offshore of Prydz Bay was drilled at ODP Site 1165B. The lithostratigraphic and biostratigraphic units were correlated to ODP Site 747A located on the Kerguelen Plateau. These two sites are correlated using middle Miocene diatoms, along with other microfossils, and marine lithostratigraphy. (MTE)
