The analysis of Site 982 has provided a high resolution record of ice-rafting from the North Atlantic to which other records can be tied, based on the mass accumulation rate of the non-volcanic terrigenous material of the 250 mu m-2 mm fraction. The results provide a detailed history of glaciation in the North Atlantic during the latest Pliocene, Pleistocene and Holocene (2 Ma to present).
