Abstract:
A new compilation of volcanic products interbedded in deep-sea sediments over nine major Circum Pacific volcanic arcs indicates the presence of three major pulses of volcanic activity. In addition, over a regional scale clear tectonic signals are recorded with volcanic activity. Thus, arc volcanism is influenced both by global magmatic events and by regional tectonic events.
