Levitan, M. A. (2000): Miocene-Quaternary history of silica accumulation in the eastern equatorial zone of the Pacific and problems of their reconstruction of paleoproductivity. MAIK Nauka/Interperiodica Publishing, Birmingham, AL, United States, Lithology and Mineral Resources, 35 (5), 425-433, georefid:2001-045295

Abstract:
Based on data from Leg 138 of the D/V Joides Resolution, the possibility of some paleoceanological reconstructions taking into account concentrations and absolute masses of biogenic SiO (sub 2) is considered. The principal possibility of reconstruction of the history of silica accumulation in the Miocene-Quaternary is shown. Absolute masses of Ba are proposed to use in order to obtain data on the evolution of paleoproductivity.
