Kim, Dae-Choul; Katahara, Keith W.; Manghnani, Murli H.; Schlanger, Seymour O. (1983): Velocity and attenuation anisotropy in deep-sea carbonate sediments. American Geophysical Union, Washington, DC, United States, Journal of Geophysical Research, 88 (B3), 2337-2343, georefid:1983-042924

Abstract:
Laboratory studies, Deep Sea Drilling Project Site 288 on the Ontong Java Plateau. Velocity anisotropy for compressional waves is found to decrease with increasing effective pressure, i.e., with closure of pores. Preferred horizontal orientation is also a significant cause of the observed anisotropy.--Modified journal abstract.
