Polycyclic arene catagenesis in world ocean sediments. MAIK Nauka/Interperiodica Publishing, Birmingham, AL, United States, Geochemistry International, 26 (6), 18-24, georefid:2010-095139
Abstract:
High-performance liquid chromatography has been applied to polyarenes in sediments from the Arctic shelf down to 3000 m, which has shown that there is synchronism between organic-matter destruction, hydrocarbon formation, and polyarene production. Polyarenes containing three or four rings are involved in the primary migration. New chemical information has been obtained on hydrocarbon molecular rearrangement in the oil-formation zone.
