Georgescu, Marius Dan (2007): A new planktonic heterohelicid foraminiferal genus from the Upper Cretaceous (Turonian). American Museum of Natural History, New York, NY, United States, Micropaleontology, 53 (3), 212-220, georefid:2008-109937
Abstract:
The planktonic foraminiferal genus, Huberella n. gen., of the Family Heterohelicidae Cushman, 1927, is described from the Turonian (Upper Cretaceous) of the western North Atlantic and equatorial Pacific. It accommodates a lineage which is characterized by the development of lid-like chamber projections attached to the previous chamber of the row in the adult portion of the test. Development of these structures does not result in the presence of accessory apertures along the zigzag suture. Two species are included in this lineage. Hubereila praehuberi n. sp. and H. huberi n. sp. The latter is designated as type species of the newly described genus.
